Android platform components

androidAndroid is the new platform adopted by google for the so called "Gphone" the announcement that google made a week ago that there will be actually a phone platform with the name google on it, and that there's a clean platform open for development is very nice to know

the linux based platform is clean and open source and has a set of features that satisfies every day mobile phone

  • Application framework enabling reuse and replacement of components
  • Dalvik virtual machine optimized for mobile devices
  • Integrated browser based on the open source WebKit engine
  • Optimized graphics powered by a custom 2D graphics library; 3D graphics based on the OpenGL ES 1.0 specification (hardware acceleration optional)
  • SQLite for structured data storage
  • Media support for common audio, video, and still image formats (MPEG4, H.264, MP3, AAC, AMR, JPG, PNG, GIF)
  • GSM Telephony (hardware dependent)
  • Bluetooth, EDGE, 3G, and WiFi (hardware dependent)
  • Camera, GPS, compass, and accelerometer (hardware dependent)
  • Rich development environment including a device emulator, tools for debugging, memory and performance profiling, and a plugin for the Eclipse IDE

well, it's up to open source developers to create a richer killer set of tools that would leverage this platform .., and the competition is here

Facebook

i like facebook a lot

it has managed to be the most popular community website ever, i think it has managed to do that by targeting the right communities and maintaining the right target of people who want to keep their friends together in one place and communicate with them and know their news in the easiest way possible

it has also attracted bloggers by importing notes IMers by using wall and messaging flickr users by the tagging photos youtubers by having video upload and tagging .... and so onnn...

Mario

"Mario" is one of the most popular games on the world.

It also was also the most famous video game character along with the most famous female video game character "Lara Croft" on the Guinness book of records 2002 (i think that's the right year)

Mario that character created by nintendo has filled the times of millions of children of different ages i found this image on the web a couple of weeks ago.. :)

well let's just say it gave the game a new dimension which might make it unsuitable for children :D

BTW open source windows XP Games link here
which includes a couple of mario games

Cabling

i know someone who literally hates cabling, well how could we live without them

Stupidity

i remember having this conversation a year ago

  • Me: "DSL is a lot faster. It--"
  • Friend's Father: "Yeah, but if you have DSL, there are a lot of threats."
  • Me: "Yes, that's true to a degree, but there are firewalls that--"
  • Friend's Father: "No, but they can hack into your computer even when it's off and steal your electricity."
  • Me: "Umm...I'm pretty sure that won't happen."
  • Friend's Father: "It's all over the news. You mean to tell me they're wrong?"
  • Me: "...I guess so."
ofcourse that father thinks that i know shit but i said what i felt was right to say
i found it here

WII in Egypt

WII in egypt a friend of mine knowing i want to buy a wii has forwarded me an SMS that he was spammed by CompuMe that they have WII,ZUNE,XBOX 360

i was very excited i thought i am getting one now, i called the guyz (ofcourse about 10 trials ) a guy replied so i asked what local is it ït took like 15 minutes to get this answer he said "US" i thought cool that is the right answer and then i asked how much is it he said 4000 EGPs oh god, it original price is about $250(today's price in black market (amazon) is $370) so that means it's about 1425EGPs nice

and there's no games available for it the guy actually said "Built in Games" which doesn't apply on a wii

so i closed the phone saying thank you

i didn't forget to ask about zune price he said 2250EGPs which is way over its original price with all the problem buzz it's generating

thank you MISHO keep those spam coming i know it's not ur fault

what happens to our blogs

i don't mean short term now it's fun n all but how will our blogs be perceived in 200-500 years time i am really sure that what happened in roman times is not what we see in the movies now stories has been passing from generation to another is being distorted changed altered glorified or mystified (too many big words)

i like this image so much it's what our descendants would think of us one day

i hope that our legacy remains and the next generations learns something from it before the internet dies (i don't know is i gonna who knows may b )

"i imagine some day they'd say and they had to type everything that they thought of and they called it blogs it's is still available if you have an old Text Based Browser "
