Egypt Diagonally

i live and work in hurghada but i was raised and born in Alexandria
"me beyotfl seetyyy"

i love alexandria no matter how much people keep telling me hoe nice hurghada is (it is nice n' peaceful and all but..)

i donno today i decided to travel diagonally across egypt southeast==>northwest form hurghada to alexndria

there's no reasonable transportation that takes you between the two cities (although they both have international airports)

well here we go, after a week of planning the trip i started early in the morning this is my street in hurgahda @ 5:30 am this morning, there's nothing moving in the street even stray dogs are asleep i was wondring what can take me to the airport at that time, i was ecstatic when i found a taxi coming to the street this early in the morning he drove fast as the streets were empty and we got to the airport in no time where i waited for my flight of course security officials have stopped us after we passed the airport gate and asked for my ID and where i was heading, well this is the first time that happens to me in the airport, being christian and shaved didn't raise much suspecious and the guard let us on our way

it was nice weather in hurghada it's also one of the few times i travel by plane in the morning this time i had the chance to watch from the window it was nice, at night i don't get to see much i was happy with the experience the plane was rather empty usually it's packed i think it's too early for tourists to move around, good for me can't complain.

this is a picture of a possible resort which i don't know its name (couldn't see the sign from that high above sorry)

it was very foggy in Cairo that the plane had to turn around after we were almost touching the gound we were unable to see anything off the windows when were closer to the ground

i stepped out of the plane thanking god everyone on the plane was worried when the plane engines roared back up when we were suppose to touch the ground :), Egyptian pilots are supposed to be the best pilots even back in the days when i used to travel with my family on other airlines they always seemed assured when the pilot is egyptian; but ofcourse we get to suffer the monopoly of a single doemstic airline in egypt (prices, finishing touches,...)

first thing i did when i landed is to call people who i care about and say i'm here and coming to Alex, was nice to hear people voices instead of just mails and SMSs

when i got to the airpot i was planning to check for a west delta or a superjet bus to go to alexandria they are supposed to be coming to the airport, if the bus was after 9:00 am i'd get a taxi to the railway station and get the 9:00 am train so i went to the booth and asked the guy assured that there's a bus coming @ 8:30 so setteld i'm staying. waited with an old lady that wants to go to alexandria too talkative uneducated (shows from accent and topics) but very nice @ 8:45 i found out that the guy can't promise the BUS!!!! which is very weird for me,

after insulting him politly i took a taxi which drove through the morning traffic in Cairo (it's been a while since i did that) and got to the Train station no problem booked my ticket had an hour to spare so. i walked around bought a couple of magazines and Guess what

i walked in the cafeteria where i usually sit and it looks like this it's become a very nice place there's not even a single empty table in the whole place, i'd upload the other side of the wall for you to see two plasma Screens but there's too much picture in this post

of course it doesn't lack the egyptian management touches you can see Fans instead of air conditioning and the same old annoying "2ahwa balady" waiter type; the same people actually that fat waiter has just pulled a chair from the table right next to me without even asking the guy sitting on that table, made me apologize to the guy and left

the trip was normal i did a little sight seeing on the train but that was about it
